Brian M. Rafferty is the Executive Editor of the Queens Tribune and the PRESS of Southeast Queens, part of the largest newspaper group in Queens, N.Y.
A veteran journalist with more than 16 years experience in media, Brian got his start covering Albany politics as an Intern at the Legislative Gazette in Albany, N.Y. Shortly after graduating college, Brian became a Reporter for the now-defunct Harlem Valley Times, covering the Town of Northeast, the Village of Millerton and the Webetuck School District.
In 1995 Brian moved to Williamsburg, Va., where he worked as a Reporter for the Tidewater Review, Editor of the Sussex-Surry Dispatch and then Reporter for the Virginia Gazette, the oldest continuously-published newspaper in the United States.
After moving back home to Queens, Brian served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Times-Ledger Newspapers, eventually adding the role and title of Production Manager, overseeing the publication of 16 weekly newspapers.
In 2004 Brian came to the Queens Tribune as Managing Editor, leaving for most of 2008 to serve as Associate Publisher of the Long-Islander Newspapers in Huntington, N.Y., before returning in late 2008 as Executive Editor of the Queens Tribune., where he works today.
